Some very special collectors asked me to create a painting that would hang high above a large archway. Knowing it would be viewed over eight feet high, I painted it to seem as if you were looking up into a large acacia.
The ideas behind all my paintings have wild origins. Occasionally, it is necessary to spend time with captive subjects to gain an intimate view of the details. This leopard, from a private reserve in Namibia, walked alongside us to a tree where we tied a chunk of meat on a limb. He climbed right up and offered me a great perspective on how a leopard feeds.
