In "Profile of a King", I wanted to focus on the quiet strength and presence of a male lion. By showing him in profile, I could highlight the noble lines of his face and the flowing texture of his mane. I worked in oil on Belgian linen, carefully layering color and texture to bring the depth and richness of his coat to life. The gaze of this lion holds a calm intensity, reflecting both his power and his role as a leader in the wild.
