One of Africa’s most spectacular sights is when flamingos are in full concert. Feeding along the shore, their pink-and-white bodies compliment the cerulean sky reflected in the soda lake. To keep the piece loose, I had to resist the urge to overwork the birds. Done correctly, you get spontaneous motion. - John Banovich
