I feel that anyone who may envisage the terrain where these animals occur would imagine the short grass plains of the Serengeti or the sand deserts of the Savuti in Botswana. Well they occur in those places of course but I have also seen them in the Mulobezi Game Management Area in Zambia and the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania where the grass was anything but short. Here they have to hunt in tall grass and their under bellies are shaved clean by the grass they are forced to hunt in. After agricultural college in South Africa, he traveled to Europe and the United States, working as a cowboy in Nebraska and New Mexico before returning to Rhodesia in 1966 to ranch.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eTolmay began guiding African hunting safaris in 1974, an experience that gave him an intimate understanding of wildlife, movement, and anatomy - knowledge that would later become fundamental to his work as a sculptor.
